Hey! I hope this counts as being on topic (sort of).
I'm visiting the west coast for the first time ever this summer with my mom (we're both from sunny, sweltering Florida). Starting in Portland, driving down the coast and leaving from San Francisco.
I NEED HELP finding:
1. Bellydance classes to drop into. Does Hot Pot have drop in classes?
2. Finding stuff to see that two native east-coasters simply HAVE to see on their first trip to the west coast!! (My mom is really into botanical gardens and stained glass, if that helps any...)
Any help would be super super appreciated!!!
THANKS!!!!

Re: HELP! Bellydance tourist!!
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 8:30 AMYou should definnitely come hang out at Hot Pot! You should also be sure to see the Conservatory of Flowers in GoldenGate Park in SF (as well as the museums and the tea gardens too)... and you have to go out to the coast- Stinson beach or Bodega Bay are great choices! They are both about 1/2 hour to an hour from SF. Oh! And Muir Woods- beautiful giant Coastal Redwoods- not to be missed!
;)
Can you tell I used to be a State Park Aid? Hee hee. -

Fri, May 2, 2008 - 11:22 AMAll of you grrls are awesome!!!
We're flying into Portland late on June 17th (Tuesday). We were going to hang out in Oregon for a day or two and then start heading down the coast. Swinging by Sacramento and finishing up in San Francisco a week later on June 25th (Wednesday). We fly back on the 26th.
I'm totally psyched about the whale watching! And the ITS class is on Mondays at 7:30?? -

Re: HELP! Bellydance tourist!!
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 11:47 AMK.. There's a ton of stuff to see and do in the Willamette Valley.. If you can make it down to the Silverton area, I highly recommend both the Oregon Garden and Silver Creek Falls. Both places are stunningly beautiful.
If you plan on being in the Salem area anytime on Wednesday, feel free to contact Hip Trip Studios tribes.tribe.net/hiptrip if ya wanna hook up with Zephyr and go out and party (Wednesday's our troupe practice, but we always hit the bar upstairs after :)
I hope you enjoy your time on the West Coast.. It's a wonderful area, although of course, I'm biased.. :) -
