This was a concept we played with in one of my last wkshops at Kosmos Camp. It was so incredibly emotional and fulfilling that we wanted to share it with the entire community. That evening these cats gave me the honor of setting my sacred space.

Thu, June 18, 2009 - 9:06 PMMy pleasure! My only regret about the footage is that I wasn't at a better place to capture EVERYONE in it, to get the full flavor of AWESOME, but I was happy to get SOMEthing from it!
It was unbelievable to watch AND do. Thanks so much for bringing your brilliance to us in such fun and playful ways.

Re: Negative Space Student piece from Kosmos Camp
Thu, June 18, 2009 - 3:31 PMI watched part of the class that this came from, and am stunned at how cohesive and beautifully it came together! Such a simple idea that created a really moving, riveting piece. It reminded me of some kind of robotic creature that could only move with one part of its body at a time.
Kudos, Amy, for creating such an unusual piece for your students--and kudos to the students who were game to make it happen! -

Re: Negative Space Student piece from Kosmos Camp
Thu, June 18, 2009 - 3:35 PMI also meant to say that this performance was created in ONE class, not over the whole week, and part of that class had other stuff going on in it. So I'd say it came together within about 45 minutes or so--awesome!!
