While I'm sad that we didn't have the rest of the Unmats with us at Kosmos Camp this year, the silver lining is that we were blessed with one of the most high-impact Amy Sigil solos I've ever witnessed. People were straight up gobsmacked at her shattering performance of the ASL number. Gasps, sobs, stunned silence. Unbelievable.
But now I've got a problem.
I typically try to post 3-5 frames that capture the essence of a performance. I know you're busy people and don't want to wade through every frame my finger twitches on but, in this case, every frame is as perfect as her performance. I feel lightheaded just looking at the photos. That totally breaks my system. I have no idea what to do.
Damn you, Amy Sigil.

Re: Amy's solo at Kosmos Camp
Mon, June 15, 2009 - 4:07 PMI absolutely agree. Amy's solo was so intense, powerful and intimate. Breathless & Jaw dropping. Time slowed down and everything was still.
Thank you Amy. It’s rare to have such a fierce reminder of how dance can be such a powerful channel. It was a privilege to witness.
Brad – I can’t wait to see the photos you do pick – if not all of them!

Re: Amy's solo at Kosmos Camp
Thu, June 18, 2009 - 2:09 PMAmy's solo was truly incredible! I think this piece is brilliant! The concept, choreography, technique is ,of course, off the fucking hook, but when you add her emotion and performance... it was a very special experience! Amy never ceases to surprise me, this was one of her best...so far...i have no doubt she'll be blowing us away for many years to come! Dance isn't just physical movement, it's emotional movement, passion, risk and being able to expose your creative heart for all to see. Few are so bold or effective! I'm so proud of you Amy!
